In the system construction special attention was paid to automatic segmentation of images, based on densimetric data. The proposed scheme includes the following features.

Especially elaborated method for statistical detection of modes is able to estimate quality and strength of histogram mode on the basis of the diagram of statistical derivative.

The initial pixels marking followed by iterative relaxation procedure is used for segmentation into connected domains. Segmentation algorithm can be used both in automatic and semiautomatic modes. In the latter case operator should initialize segmentation procedure by pointing out the appropriate seed points.

In general case, the morphometric analysis and object classification are performed after segmentation and semiautomatic object detection. Special modes for convenient semiautomatic measurements of objects' parameters are realized in software.
