Stereo Intruder Detector (SID) is innovative, flexible and cost-effective solution. It uses principle "object different from the reference surface" which shows a very robust behavior for object detection in real-time applications. To obtain the reference surface, the preliminary reconstruction of the scene from several cameras is used. Fast 3-D analysis of the scene allows to distinguish very special objects by their size and movement. 3-D information is used in combination with image understanding techniques to provide more robust and effective results in the object detection and tracing.
